120 crores.That’s the amount of hard cash the Puli Movie team invested with Vijay and Shruti Hassan leading from the front.The Puli Movie Team kept their promise of officially releasing the trailer for Puli Movie today on 20th August.The Trailer runs for about 1 minute and 53 seconds,and by the looks of it,the Puli Team have put together a decent treat for the Tamil Movie Fans.
Puli Trailer, a YouTube Sensation: It has been a little over 8 hours now since the release by Sony Music India and the Puli Official Trailer has already garnered a whopping 10 lakh views.But certain sections of Audience are rather skeptical and dysphoric about Puli Movie’s potential after looking at the trailer.
Taking a closer look at Puli Trailer: The Trailer begins with a bird’s eye view of the Jaw-dropping Palace,which is expected in a typical historical movie like Puli.The Camera then shifts focus on a host of kingdom-ish elements like the rustic Villagers residing over the place and full plate armored-soldiers with helmets,gauntlets,breastplates and sabatons,you name it.
And then come the words on the screen saying,” In a land ruled by darkness” and ironically enough,the person being depicted as ‘Darkness’ is the milky beauty Sridevi.Sridevi with her surreal Tiaras bears a striking resemblance with Charlize Theron in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’.At 52,Sridevi still has a lot beauty left in her.
Shruti Hassan and Vijay look pretty sassy as romantics,while Hansika(Sridevi’s daughter) on the other word,is not far behind in terms of bewitchment ,shaking her leg as a royal belly dancer,ballet queen or something.
Last,but definitely not the least,Sudeep the Commander of Queen Consort(Sridevi) appears to be on a mission-of-sorts to keep himself to the shadows and not revealing too much about himself,as he lies down with an elegant indifference and disregard on his throne.
Is it right to compare Puli to Bahubali? : In a Nation where directors like Shankar,Rajamouli,Karan Johan are putting everything on the line to ascend the Indian Cinematic Industry to the levels of Hollywood,it is quite ill-advised on the part of Indian Audience to stir a controversy in the process of comparing Movies like Puli to those like Bahubali.Bahubali,in its own respect,called for a lot of critical acclaim as it marked the first time a movie of such International Magnitude was made on Indian soil by an Indian comrade:Rajamouli.And in all honest and in all likelihood,Chimbu Deven(director of Puli) must have had no intentions mimicking Rajamouli’s magnum opus.Chimbu Deven endeavors to spin out a story like Puli with his own crafty touch to the storyline and direction and in no way is it fair to compare these two directors’ works.If anthing,we Indians should be proud for being a part of this era when Indian Cinema is breaking new ground for the first time.
Puli Marketing Strategy: The Tamil Movie Makres have shown an impressive guile when they first released Jilla Movie’s telugu dubbed version all over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,few days back.It served as a proper acquaintance of people in these regions with Vijay.And now,Vijay will be back with his actual Gamechanger,Puli.In a fashion similar to Bahubali’s Trailer release,Puli Movie team has also decided to let the trailer out in Theatres across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Puli Movie T.V Telecasting: The Sun TV procured the satellite right s for the Puli Movie,at an exorbitant price of 22 crores.But if Puli goes on to become a tour-de-force,then 22 crores will be an investment well made.
Puli is set to release this month in theatres.Bahubali made a huge uproar for the past few months,Hopefully Puli shifts the spotlight to itself in the days to come and fairs just as well at the Box Office.It will then deify South Indian Movie Industry to a whole other level.
